This Revenant Tree is the seventh item in our Space Plant series! Contrary to its ominous name, the Revenant is actually a subgenus of the Altrucia tree, an indigenous plant of Terra III known for its thick and colorful leaves. Geoengineers introduced fields of Altrucias to Hyperion in an effort to break up the dust storms. Although the project failed, the Altrucia trees adapted to the perpetual wind patterns, shedding its leaves and thickening the wood in the trunk. Botanists initially believed that the Altrucias had died, but on closer inspection, discovered that they were quite alive and thus, the name was born. “TEARS OF FIRE” PAINTING: Painter Aaron Fring immortalized the last moments of the Second Tevarin War in his iconic painting “Tears of Fire.” Fring was on Elysium when Warlord Corath’Thal and the remaining members of his Tevarin fleet incinerated themselves in the atmosphere of their homeworld. Each ICC probe is part of a network that allows an ICC cartographer to study a wider section of space from their control center ICARUS ONE HOLOGRAPHIC MODEL: The Icarus One transfer station was constructed in 2148 to act as an intermediary stopover point between Earth and Mars. Designed by Pietro Moretti, this sprawling station initially served to accommodate resource haulers transporting goods to aid in the terraforming of Mars. However, once Mars was officially cleared for Human habitation in 2157, Icarus One transitioned into a civilian station for aspiring pioneers, eager to start a new life on the alien world. The Icarus One continued to be one of the primary transfer hubs even after Humanity discovered jump points and expanded into neighboring systems. In 2407, the Icarus One was declared a historical landmark and decommissioned for civilian habitation. The aging station remained in its place until 2657, when Messer V had the station destroyed as a ‘relic of a bygone age. IMS BOLLIVER HOLOGRAPHIC MODEL: Established during the First Tevarin War, IMS Bolliver was intended to serve as a infantry platform in the case of a Tevarin invasion. The Bolliver’s layout was optimized to not only house military personnel but also provide defensible positions in the case of assault. This configuration became a template for future security stations and its references to this configuration can still be seen to this day. The station was decommissioned in mid-28th century. Although it’s technically off-limits, squatters can sometimes be found living in the dilapidated halls.
